CiteGist Terms of Use
Effective date: May 3, 2026 Last updated: July 2, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of CiteGist ("Platform"), operated by Bemedia Communities Ltd., Israeli company registration no. 515615946, trading as CiteGist ("Bemedia Communities Ltd.," "CiteGist," "we," "us," "our"), at citegist.com. By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
1. What CiteGist Is
CiteGist is a public information platform that measures and publishes the AI citation visibility of expert professionals ("Voices"). For each Voice, the Platform computes a composite score ("CiteRank") based on publicly available signals from AI systems (such as ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity, and Copilot) and the open web. CiteRank scores and sub-scores are outputs of an automated, methodology-driven algorithm. Full methodology is published at citegist.com/methodology.
2. CiteRank Is Algorithmic Output, Not Editorial Opinion
CiteRank scores, sub-scores, and leaderboard rankings are the outputs of an automated algorithm applied to publicly observable data. They reflect observed AI citation patterns and public web signals as of the "last updated" date shown on each Voice profile.
CiteRank scores and related content are not:
- Editorial opinions, endorsements, or assessments of any Voice
- Judgments of professional competence, expertise, personal character, or human worth
- Guarantees of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any purpose
- Predictions of future performance or behavior
CiteGist does not publish editorial commentary about any Voice.
3. Not a Consumer Reporting Agency
CiteGist is not a consumer reporting agency as defined under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq.) ("FCRA"). CiteRank scores and Voice profile data are not consumer reports and are expressly not intended for use as consumer reports.
CiteGist data may not be used as a factor in determining any individual's eligibility for:
- Employment, promotion, reassignment, or retention
- Credit, insurance, rental housing, or other financial products
- Government licenses or benefits
- Any other purpose regulated by the FCRA
Any use of CiteGist data in connection with an FCRA-regulated decision is a violation of these Terms and outside the intended scope of the Platform.
4. Acceptable Use Policy
You may use the Platform only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may not use the Platform or any data obtained from it to:
(a) Harass, threaten, or intimidate any Voice or any other individual.
(b) Make eligibility decisions - use CiteRank scores or profile data as a factor in any decision regarding employment, credit, insurance, housing, or any other determination about an individual's legal rights or material interests.
(c) Aggregate or resell personal data - compile, aggregate, or resell personal information about Voices without our express written consent.
(d) Scrape or auto-extract data - access the Platform using bots, spiders, crawlers, scrapers, or any other automated means, except with our prior written permission.
(e) Train AI models - use Platform data, CiteRank scores, or Voice profile content to train, fine-tune, test, or create datasets for artificial intelligence, machine learning, or large language models, except with our prior written permission.
(f) Misrepresent scores - represent CiteRank scores as authoritative or objective assessments of professional competence, expertise, or character.
(g) Impersonate Voices - falsely claim to be a Voice, submit fraudulent profile claims, or submit false correction or flag requests.
(h) Interfere with the Platform - introduce malware, overload servers, attempt unauthorized access, or interfere with other users' access to the Platform.
(i) Violate applicable law - use the Platform in violation of any federal, state, local, or international law or regulation.
Violation of this Acceptable Use Policy may result in immediate suspension or termination of your access to the Platform.
5. Voice Profiles and Public Information
Voice profiles are compiled from publicly available information. Inclusion on the Platform does not constitute an endorsement of, or by, any Voice.
Voices may:
- Claim their profile and edit certain fields
- Suggest corrections to factual information
- Request that their CiteRank score computation be paused
- Request removal of their profile
Correction, freeze, and removal procedures are described in our Takedown & Request Policy. We evaluate all requests in accordance with our published policies and applicable law.
6. Intellectual Property
The Platform, including the CiteRank methodology, scoring system, design, software, and AI-generated characterizations of Voices' content styles, is owned by CiteGist, Inc. and is protected by intellectual property laws.
You may view, link to, and share individual Voice profile pages for non-commercial, informational purposes. You may not reproduce, republish, distribute, or create derivative works from Platform content in bulk or for commercial purposes without our prior written permission.
The sameAs links on each Voice profile point to publicly available content owned by third parties. CiteGist does not claim ownership of that content.
7. Accuracy and Data Currency
CiteRank scores reflect data available as of the "last updated" date shown on each Voice profile. Scores change over time as underlying signals change. We do not guarantee that any score or profile information is accurate, complete, or current.
If you believe a Voice profile contains a factual error, please submit a correction request at citegist.com/takedown.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE PLATFORM AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CITEGIST DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, BEMEDIA COMMUNITIES LTD. (TRADING AS CITEGIST), ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE PLATFORM SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CiteGist, Inc., its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Platform; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any third party's rights.
11. Dispute Resolution - Arbitration
Please read this section carefully. It affects your legal rights.
Informal resolution first: Before initiating any formal proceeding, you agree to contact us at [email protected] and attempt in good faith to resolve any dispute informally for at least 30 days.
Binding arbitration: If informal resolution fails, any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Platform shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by JAMS under its applicable rules, except as provided below. Arbitration shall take place in Delaware or remotely. The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding.
Exceptions: Either party may seek emergency injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction. Claims of intellectual property infringement are not subject to arbitration.
Class action waiver: You and CiteGist each agree to bring claims only in an individual capacity and not as part of any class, collective, or representative action.
California public injunction carve-out: If you are a California resident, nothing in this Section prevents you from seeking public injunctive relief in court as permitted by California law (McGill v. Citibank, 2 Cal.5th 945 (2017)).
Opt-out: You may opt out of the arbitration requirement by sending written notice to [email protected] within 30 days of first using the Platform. Your opt-out notice must state your name, email, and that you are opting out of arbitration.
12. Governing Law
These Terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to conflict of law principles, except where applicable consumer protection law in your jurisdiction requires otherwise.
13. Refund & Cancellation Policy
Payments for CiteGist Solo are processed by our Merchant of Record, Paddle.com, which handles all billing, taxes, and refunds. This policy applies together with Paddle's Buyer Terms and refund policy.
Free trial. You can cancel any time during your 7-day free trial and you will not be charged - the trial costs $0. If you don't cancel, your subscription begins automatically on day 7 and renews monthly at $49/month until you cancel.
Refund window. You may request a full refund within 14 days of any transaction. Refunds are processed to the original payment method, where possible, within 14 days of the request being approved.
Your statutory rights. Where your local consumer protection law grants an unconditional withdrawal or cancellation right (for example, in the EU/EEA, Switzerland, the UK, and Israel), that right applies and overrides this policy. Paddle applies the highest applicable standard of protection for your country.
Products not as described or defective. If a product is faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose, your statutory consumer rights are not affected. Contact us first at [email protected], and if the issue is unresolved, contact Paddle support.
How to cancel or request a refund. Cancel in two clicks from your CiteGist account settings, or through Paddle using the "Manage subscription" or "View receipt" link in your Paddle confirmation email (Settings → Payments → Manage automatic payments). To request a refund, use the support link in your Paddle receipt. Cancellation stops all future renewals.
Your data. After cancellation you retain access until the end of your paid period. We keep your account data for 30 days in case you reactivate, after which it may be deleted.
