    Questions about the pilot

    What can the connection read?

    The public tools find topics, show which experts AI mentions and read supporting sources. With the additional dashboard permission, get_my_visibility_dashboard reads your own stored visibility, published CiteRank, changes, history and scan sources. Missing measurements stay unknown. It cannot read another user’s private dashboard, run scans, ask private questions, spend credits, create lists or change your account.

    How do I reconnect?

    Open your AI tool’s CiteGist connection and follow its sign-in prompt.

    Why sign in?

    Every connection requires a signed-in CiteGist account. Public research uses citegist:mcp:read. Your own dashboard additionally requires citegist:dashboard:read and an explicit approval. Anonymous access is blocked for both.

    How should I compare my ranking with others?

    Compare your published CiteRank with other published CiteRanks. Topic mention share is a separate measurement: mentions divided by measured answers for that topic. Ask your assistant to show dates and denominators, and flag different scopes rather than combining them into one rank.

    Do other people need my plugin ZIP?

    No. Share this guide. Each person adds the hosted URL in their AI app and signs in to their own CiteGist account. A custom connection does not install a public directory listing or the optional packaged skill.

    Is this the same as citegist.com/mcp?

    No. Use https://mcp.citegist.com/mcp for this shortlist pilot. The MCP API at citegist.com/mcp is separate.
