    CiteGist Copyright Policy

    Bemedia Communities Ltd. (trading as CiteGist) ("CiteGist") respects intellectual property rights and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512. We respond promptly to properly submitted notices of alleged copyright infringement.

    Our Content

    CiteGist publishes the following categories of content:

    • CiteRank scores and methodology - original content created by CiteGist
    • AI-generated voice characterizations - original content created by CiteGist's systems based on analysis of publicly available material
    • sameAs links - outbound hyperlinks to content published by Voices on their own platforms. These links point to content at its original location; CiteGist does not host, reproduce, or distribute the linked content
    • Voice profile information - publicly available factual information about professional identity and role

    CiteGist does not host user-uploaded content at Phase 1. A DMCA takedown pathway is maintained in advance of Phase 2 features that will include user content.

    Submitting a DMCA Takedown Notice

    If you believe that content on the CiteGist Platform infringes your copyright, please submit a written notice to our designated agent containing the following elements required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3):

    1. Your signature - physical or electronic
    2. Identification of the copyrighted work - describe the work you claim has been infringed, or if multiple works are covered, a representative list
    3. Identification of the infringing material - identify the material you claim is infringing and provide information sufficient for us to locate it on the Platform (e.g., the specific URL)
    4. Your contact information - name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address
    5. Good-faith belief statement - "I have a good faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law."
    6. Accuracy and authority statement - "I swear, under penalty of perjury, that the information in this notification is accurate and that I am the copyright owner or am authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner."

    Notices that do not include all required elements may not receive a response or may be treated as incomplete.

    What Happens After We Receive a Notice

    Upon receipt of a complete, properly submitted DMCA notice, we will:

    1. Review the notice for completeness
    2. Take reasonable steps to remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material
    3. Notify the provider of the removed content (where applicable) of the takedown
    4. Document the takedown in our records

    Submitting a Counter-Notice

    If you believe your content was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice to our designated agent pursuant to 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3). A valid counter-notice must include:

    1. Your physical or electronic signature
    2. Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal
    3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification
    4. Your name, address, and telephone number
    5. A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district where your address is located (or the Northern District of California if outside the US), and that you will accept service of process from the party who submitted the original notice

    Upon receipt of a valid counter-notice, we will notify the original complainant and may restore the material after 10–14 business days unless the complainant seeks a court order.

    Repeat Infringers

    CiteGist will terminate access for users who are determined to be repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances, consistent with 17 U.S.C. § 512(i).
